Define literacy in your own words. What are you literate in? And how did you become literate in that area?
I think that literacy means being knowledgeable about something, possibly even accomplished in it. I am literate in Jewish music and songleading. I am passionate about my faith, and music. For me, songleading is pleasurable, I practice all the time in different places, and with different people. I feel that my literacy in songleading gives me a purpose.

Reflection
Journal 6 was important to me because it gave me a chance to define something that has already been given a definition. Literacy literally means the ability to read and write. However, in this class, literacy means so much more, and I think that being given a chance to define literacy myself really helped me when it came time to write a paper about my personal literacy.
